35-year-old Miranda Marks, of a Josh Ward Rd address in Lyerly, was arrested last Wednesday in Summerville after allegedly doing burnouts and donuts in her vehicle in the parking lot of the old Summerville Bi-Lo.
A Summerville police officer identified a 2002 Ford Sport Trac that fit the description of a vehicle that was reportedly driving erratically in and around the Summerville McDonald’s parking lot. The driver had allegedly almost hit several vehicles going through the McDonald’s drive-thru. The officer spotted the Ford driving erratically through the Jack’s and Marvin’s parking lots, eventually fishtailing onto Commerce Street.
According to the officer’s report, when he pulled over driver Miranda Marks, she began screaming profanities at the officer and repeatedly screaming, “They put hands on my son.” Marks repeatedly tried to resist the officer’s attempts to conduct a field sobriety test and his attempts to handcuff her. Eventually, additional officers were called and Marks was pinned down against a patrol car by one officer while another handcuffed her.
At the county jail, Marks admitted that she was too drunk to drive and was charged with DUI alcohol, reckless driving, and disorderly conduct.
A mugshot is not available for Miss Marks.
