A 64-year old man is facing a reckless driving charge after allegedly driving his van into the river at the Calhoun Recreation Park.
According to Calhoun Police reports, officers responded to the call Tuesday and saw the vehicle in the water with the occupants standing on the bank.
The driver, Patrick Vite of Calhoun, told police his brakes weren’t working.
However, tire marks and furrows in the grass were found indicating that Vite was accelerating before entering the river.
