Deadly holiday on Georgia Roads

It was a deadly Labor Day weekend on Georgia roadways.
Last year, there were four fatalities reported. This year, as of 6 p.m. Sunday, there had been 18.
The final numbers are due out later today.
One of those fatalities occurred Saturday afternoon and was worked by Post 3 of the Georgia State Patrol in Cartersville.
49-year old Lillie Verhine of White died following a single-vehicle wreck on Bells Ferry Road in Bartow County.
Fatal wrecks have also been investigated by Post 4 of the Georgia State Patrol in Villa Rica, Post 5 in Dalton, Post 47 in Forest Park and three fatalities occurred in Union City.
Two of the fatal accidents were investigated by Cobb County Police, and two accidents with three fatalities were worked by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
Clayton County PD, Nighthawks North, GSP Post 15 in Perry, Post 1 in Griffin, Post 6 in Gainesville, and Post 52 in Hartwell also investigated fatal wrecks.
