The Chattooga County Sheriff's Department is warning the area about another scam making rounds.
According to the police, a Summerville man was contacted last month by someone claiming to work for “Cash Net USA”
Only texts were exchanged throughout the conversations between the two.
The Cash Net USA employee claimed that if the victim went and bought iTunes cards and gave the PIN Codes off of those iTunes cards that the money would be his.
The scammer received the man’s bank account information to wire the requested loan amount but a couple days later his bank called him with the information that no one wants to hear.
An amount of over $700 in the cashier’s check from the claimed loan provider was listed as no good and the resident was told he was ultimately responsible for that amount.
